Tip 8: Darling, Listen to Daddy's heart

This is an interesting tip from a Japanese midwife doctor. Newborn babies will stop crying when they hear heartbeat sounds. And lo and behold, its true! The baby was in mummy's womb for 9 months and most of the sound heard (besides the TV!) would be mummy's heartbeat. Hopefully, the baby is carefully observing mummy's heartbeat to understand if she was happy at each moment so the baby can share in the joy. As Haruka was crying, I laid her on my chest and there was Haruka listening intently to daddy's heartbeat, and beginning to stop to cry as the sound gets more and more clearer as I shift her ears closer to my heart.

Its a joy to share a heartbeat to another who evermore wants to listen so intently. As God created man, it was also God's intent for man to follow after His own heart and thereafter find fulfilment in life. One such man who did just that was the sentimental David who begin to understand God's heart in the pastures tending his sheep and there he also developed the ambition to seek after His calling. And it must be a joy if my children could follow after my own heart and find fulfilment and beauty in what I could offer to them. That also means I need to set my heart right as best as possible as my child grows more mature to understand my heart. And to do that, requires understanding God's heart and to think of the beautiful things in life that He has in store for me. Beautiful thoughts make a beautiful heart. And before the newborn baby forgets the melody of the heartbeat and be exposed to too much of the noise of the TV, traffic, loud talkings - put your baby on the chest and let him/her hear your heartbeat and be close to your heart. Do that before your baby gets too distracted with other things than the basic simple things in life which are of course the beautiful things.
