I am not sure if this tip made any positive impact on Haruka's mental and physical developments, but it is sure fun to see a healthy baby charting her first few steps on her own initiative (or reflex). But its really not so magical as the baby was not walking with a grin that says - "hey, I can walk dad!" - That would probably steal a dad's heart away when that moment happens. But, everything in that delivery room is magical - from the baby's head popping out, the baby looking around curiously, the baby charting her first few steps to your first embrace of a wonderful miracle of life in your hands. A fragile, weak, helpless and small baby in your arms, yet full of life and potential and beauty. The first day will always remain in your sweetest memories. Hence, do not trade away the chance to be in the delivery room. And negotiate with your doctor for all this above to happen.
This blog will list tips of being a daddy and a parent. My observations of what counts to make your child beautiful inside and out. And yes, a daddy plays a big role in making life beautiful for children in this world. Documenting the past and dreams for the future for my children is the foundation of success for parenting.

Tip 2: Baby can walk on their first day
Yes, as fragile and delicate a baby's body is, a baby has reflexes and impulses to charter his/her first few steps on earth. I first heard this from a lecturer who was sharing new age principles and shake my head in disbelief. Then, in my frequent consultation with my doctor, she said its pretty normal for a baby to have such reflexes. So I said I want to try that upon my baby's delivery. After I greeted Haruka and Tomomi gave Haruka her first breastfed milk, the nurse checked if Haruka was well and healthy and at her first 20 minutes on ground, she walked. The doctor made her stand and she moved her legs slowly to master a few steps. Her first steps on earth!
